With an emphasis on firefighter safety, the curriculum thoroughly covers emergency response systems, fire behavior prediction and control, and mastery of firefighting tools and techniques, including emergency medical care, auto extrication, and an understanding of building construction, preparing students for immediate and effective action in saving lives and property.

Program Courses

Introduction to Professional Services

In Introduction to Professional Services students will learn the basic skills in this class such as CPR, AED and First Aid as well as equipment used in the fire service.

Firefighting 1

In Firefighting 1 students will have to complete 15 modules online through Fire Academy as well as the hands-on skills needed to pass the SCFA certification test at the end.

Firefighting 2

In Firefighting 2, students will learn how to conduct a station tour, how to answer the phone for emergency calls and non- emergency calls as well as how to fill out the proper paperwork for pre-plans and fire reports .
