Program Courses

Fundamentals of Computing is designed to introduce students to the field of computer science through an exploration of a variety of computing topics. Through creativity and innovation, students will use critical thinking and problem solving skills to implement projects that are relevant to students’ lives.

Personal Finance includes the practical applications of concepts and techniques used in managing personal finances. Major areas of study include financial planning, budgeting, credit use, housing, insurance, investments and retirement planning.

Digital Multimedia prepares students for careers in the graphic design field. Skills may be applied in any media, such as print, digital media, product design, packaging, etc. Most of the standards require students to combine text and graphics to communicate an effective message in the format intended for commercial reproduction. This project-driven class stresses the development of employability skills in the field of graphics.

Entrepreneurship students will learn the skills and abilities consistent with an entrepreneurial mindset to develop as a whole person by better understanding human behavior, creative endeavors, social relationships, one’s relationship to the environment and how stress and failure can be managed.

The Business Law course develops an understanding of legal rights and responsibilities in personal and business law with applications applied to everyday roles as consumers, citizens, and workers. The student will have an understanding of the American legal system, courts/court procedures, criminal justice systems, torts, the civil justice system, oral and written contracts, sales contracts and warranties, consumer protection, social responsibility, and ethics.
